Dr. Mohamed Eltorki

Dr. Mohamed Eltorki is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and a clinician scientist at the University of Calgary. He leads several Health Canada-regulated clinical trials comparing analgesics in randomized studies to determine the most effective and safest strategies for managing acute pain in children. His current work includes the CIHR-funded Keto-APP trial, a national, multi-centre study evaluating treatments for children with suspected appendicitis.

Dr. Eltorki’s research program has been supported by multiple prestigious grants and awards, including Hamilton Health Sciences New Investigator Grants, an Innovation Grant from the Ministry of Health to study the effects of kiwifruit on constipation, and funding from the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University for a ketorolac dosing trial.

In addition to his research, Dr. Eltorki is an inaugural recipient of the IMPaCT Early Career Researcher Award, has received multiple teaching awards, and has supervised numerous graduate students whose work has earned national recognition. In 2025, he was honored with the Terry Klassen Pediatric Emergency Canada Young Investigator Award by Pediatric Emergency Research Canada.
